Joseph P. McGovern, Esq. is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, BA, University of Oklahoma, MA and Washington University School of Law, JD, St. Louis, Mo. Mr. McGovern has substantial litigation experience. He has appeared before the NYS Court of Appeals, NYS Appellate Division, NYS Supreme Courts, Federal Courts – Northern, Western and Southern Districts, Family Courts, Bankruptcy Court, Surrogates Court, City/Justice Courts, NYS Board of Industrial Appeals, Workers Compensation Board, Unemployment Appeals Board, National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), NYS Division of Human Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Social Security Administration (SSA) and NYS Retirement System. Mr. McGovern has been involved in numerous contract and disciplinary hearings and arbitrations.

In addition to his legal experience Mr. McGovern is a 21-year military veteran having served 5 years with the USAF and 16 years with the Air National Guard. Mr. McGovern is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the NYS Humanitarian Service Medal. Mr. McGovern has logged over 2500 flight hours with the AWACS aircraft. During the course of his military career he has deployed around the world in support of various military operations to include several deployments to the Mid-East, Europe and Central America.
